Subject: good (but long) paper on searching for variability
Some astronomers have searched through a large collection of
measurements made by the 2MASS survey for variable objects -- with
the goal of finding extrasolar planets circling cool, small dwarf
stars. They have written a paper which describes many issues
involved in the search for variability, and for extrasolar planets.
