I agree with Doug - it would be far more useful, and easier
for Tom in the long run, if the images were just loaded onto
a server.  That also supplies another backup, with the CD/DVD
archive being the "master" in case recovery is needed.

500K 2kx2k images is about 4TB.  A typical 7TB server costs about
$7K, so this is a small expense compared to the cost of the survey.
CADC and other sites usually have this kind of space available.
We're getting a TB RAID server next week ourselves.  I'd offer
to host such an archive if someone bought the computer.
