What you need is "mplayer" and to set it up in your browser
to be the application used to display mpeg4.  It works
well

The first step is to get mplayer.  Build and install it on your
system and try it out as a stand alone application.  It will
play "anything" and is one of the most popular Linux applications
although I know it works under a lot more OSes than just Linux.
