Taking Data

I am taking the first images under Rob's control program.  So far I have
focused and am presetly rotating the mount to get it pointing north.  The
TOM1 mount is not so stiff that I will ever get it pointed very
accurately, but I am just trying to keep the images from drifting up and
down too much.

I figure that in another couple of weeks I will have TOM1 cleaned and
polished and taking long sequences of images.  The plan is to spend some
time on each telescope each night tracking the sky, and the rest doing a
broad survey.

The plan of the moment is to take one or two scans where I track a frame
as long as I can to get short period variable data, then spend the rest of
the night scanning as much sky as possible to get long period variable
data.

We shall see.
