New Configuration

OK, I have taken all the good advice(I think).  I now have an 8 port switch
in my office connecting to 5 local computers.  These are the processing end
of the pipeline.  I have removed the upstairs multiplexor and now two
separate cables come downstairs to the 8 channel switch.  

In the work room is the TOM1 computer.  It connects to an 8 port router as
do the two local Windows machines and the DSL modem.  A cable from the
router goes to the 8 port switch in the office. 

Now each computer that ships stored images to the processing machines has a
cable route to the 8 port switch that is not shared by any other computer
trying to send images.  We shall see tomorrow when I try to process the
night's run whether it works any faster.  There should be a 3/1 improvement.
