RE: Data Processing Switch

Hey,

Well, I'm struggling, just at a different point ;-) I know my reductions
are poor, but I've been working on the dB which stores all the information
before I attempt to get the reductions done correctly (which should be
happening real soon now! No, really!).

When I create the dark and flat images, I write a FITS table to the
dark/flat image which contains the file name of all images used to create
the file.

When reducing the images, I do the image manipulations when I need them
done, and delete the file when done reducing that image.

Once I run out of disk space and want to actually archive the data, I will
be storing the dark/flat images, along with the original images, on the
archive medium. If I leave the CD/DVD session open and I need to re-create
the dark/flat image to re-process, I can write the new images to the medium.

I'm currently not updating the original FITS image with corrected RA/DEC, or
any of that other stuff Chris mentioned (I'm hopping that if I procrastinate
long enough that Michael R. will implement this, and then I can 'borrow'
his...).

Later,
Rob
