Totally eclipsing EBs are very useful because the totality enables you
to get a very accurate estimate of the ratio of the radii in most
situations. For overcontact systems and semidetached sytems, that
enables you to get a pretty good estimate of the mass ratio which can
be very useful if you don't have radial velocities. Bob Wilson (of
Wilson-Devinney fame) and I are working on a paper demonstrating all of
that.
