GSC 573-1241
The star GSC 573-1241 is one of the stars which is proven to be a new
variable by the TASS data from October (number 4964 in the list). The
light curve hints at a W UMa-type variable. It is probably associated
with the Rosat source 1RXS J223616.7+060101 (21" distant), another clue
for EWness. The Tycho-2 catalog has it at BT=12.712 and VT=11.776,
which makes it an early K star.
The period is probably around 0.268 days (or an alias thereof), similar
to e.g. XY Leo. Most of the TASS data are at either primary or
secondary minimum, the other minimum is not well covered.
