No, when the eclipse depths are nearly equal, that means the two stars
have about the same surface brightness, and by extension, temperature.
Since they have nearly the same temperature, the color of the system
changes very little over the orbital cycle. Contrast that with Algols
where the two stars have very different temperatures and the color
changes are dramatic.
