Yes exactly,  I wrote "under Linux. (Well at least Linux-i386)"
From a Sun SPARC I could telnet into a Linux-i386 system and
run dosemu with the display exported back to the Sun's screen.
So you'd need an Intel box someplace on your Ethernet if not
on your desk.

Also look at www.vmware.com
You can stack Windows/vmware/Linux/dosemu on some machine some
place on the network.  The guy using the Windows system does not
really even need to know.  Lots of tricks.

I did run Tom's BASIC real-time control software on Linux/dosemu
from a networked x-server.  It worked for me.  The BASIC control
software ran on a P100 in the attic (lights out) while I was down
stairs at my "big" computer.
